Pine Cove Tavern was originated in 1953 by a man named Dave Mahan. He came up with it's name from the wooden interior, cabin style feel of the bar. Inside this second story bar you will find it surrounded with windows and cozy with a fireplace. It has always been known for the free popcorn and Pabst on tap. The atmosphere is sports bar like with 11 televisions, darts, Golde Tee, jukebox, and bar games. This is probably the only bar in town where you will only find Saccani Dist. beers on tap.
In 1993, Dave sold the bar to his two sons Pat and Tim. Traditions and drink prices stayed the same. The Cove has the cheapest prices in the downtown area. The reputation of the bar was a police friendly clientle, however; the college students have taken over since. Dont' be surprised if you find yourself sitting next to a cop. Buy them a drink. Cops are people too.
In 2006, Pat and Tim sold the bar to Ronica Anderson and Mike Rademaker, long time employees. Ronica started in 1994 as a cocktail waitress and worked herself through bartending, then managing. Put herself through school to receive her Masters Degree in Business. While Mike started as a Bouncer in 1997 and worked himself up to bartending and also received his Masters Degree in Communications. Same nostalgic bar, just a few new friendly faces. Come up and say hello!
